Tianjin Sets Up First Industrial Park for Overseas Chinese

The Nankai Industrial Park for Overseas Chinese, the first one of its kind in north China's municipality of Tianjin, was officially set up November 22.

The new industrial park, part of the Tianjin High-Tech Park, occupies a land area of more than 15,000 square meters and was designed especially to house and support those overseas Chinese who want to invest in Tianjin.

At the ceremony, three companies sponsored by overseas Chinese announced that they will enter the park.

According to the park's management committee, companies located in the park will enjoy preferential policies such as one year of free offices and so on.

So far there are some 13,000 overseas funded enterprises in Tianjin, among which over 60 percent were funded by overseas Chinese and compatriots from China's Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macao.
