West China Province Hosts Hong Kong Festival
A Hong Kong Festival opened Wednesday in Xi'an, capital city of west China's Shaanxi Province with a dragon and lion dancing performance .
The festival, which is scheduled to last till December 2, is being jointly hosted by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) and the Shaanxi Provincial government.
Major activities during the festival include an exhibition on Hong Kong's progress towards the new century, a financial seminar organized by Hong Kong Trade Development Council, a seminar on the development of Hong Kong's service sector and an evening gala.
The festival is expected to exhibit the latest developments in Hong Kong to the Chinese mainland and promote exchange and cooperation between H.K. and Shaanxi province, said Bowen Leung Po-wing, director of Hong Kong SAR Representative Office in Beijing.
