Cuban Minister Meets Chinese Senior Legislator

Cuban Minister of Government Ricardo Cabrisas met in Havana November 21 with Li Shuzheng, a member of the Standing Committee of the Chinese National People's Congress (NPC).

During the meeting, the two sides discussed issues of common interest and analyzed aspects of the bilateral collaboration as well as the economic situation in Cuba.

Li, who arrived in Havana last Sunday with a NPC delegation, recognized the Cuban government's advances in its goal to raise the living standard of its people.

Li, also vice president of China's Foreign Affairs Commission, praised the friendship and solidarity between the two nations.

She also thanked Cuba for its support to the Chinese people and underscored the importance of enhancing contacts between parliaments of the two countries.

Invited by Cuba's National Assembly of People's Power, the Chinese delegation will meet Cuba's Foreign Ministry officials and congressmen.
