ICAO's 11th Safety Supervision Seminar Held in Beijing

The 11th seminar on safety supervision was held November 20 jointly by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the General Administration of Civil Aviation of China (CAAC) in Beijing.

Delegates from Asian-Pacific countries and regions attended the 12-day seminar, according to an official with CAAC.

The official said that at the seminar, experts of the ICAO will introduce the implementation of the safety supervision audit program, focusing on supervision of pilots' licenses and operation and adaptation of airplanes.

The ICAO launched the program from January 1, 1999, and regularly hosts regional safety supervision seminars.

The CAAC took the safety supervision audit on September, 1999, and is now actively resolving the problems auditors raised and trying to improve its safety supervision system, said the official.
