Bomber Sentenced to Death in Sichuan

A bomber, killing 6 and injuring 6 on June 26, 2000, was sentenced to death by a local court in the first verdict in Southwest China's Sichuan Province.

The Intermediate People's Court of Sichuan's Liangshan Prefecture also deprived Yin Kaihua of political rights for life, according to chinadaily.com.cn.

Yin blew up a government building in Qiluogou town, Ningnan County of Liangshan in the early hours of June 26, killing 6 and badly injuring 6.

It is reported that Yin, a local silkworm raising administrator, was criticized by the township government leaders for accounts irregularities in his work on June 25 this year.

Earlier, the town agricultural administrative center refused to recruit his daughter.

All these have allegedly ignited his hatred over the town government, prompting his bomb action.

As the blast attracted nationwide attention, the provincial, prefectural and county public security bureaux helped net in the criminal four days later through joint efforts.

Meanwhile, his wife was sentenced to 3 years in prison for harborage.
