US President Concludes Visit to Vietnam

US President Bill Clinton and his wife, Hillary Clinton, and his delegation left Ho Chi Minh City for home November 19 night, concluding their four-day official visit to Vietnam.

Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Vo Viet Thang November 19 afternoon met with Clinton, who arrived in Ho Chi Minh City November 18 night.

During the meeting, Thang expressed his hope that the relations between the two countries would be further developed and the US government would pay due attention to the consequences of the war that the Vietnamese people have been suffering from.

Clinton stressed that the visit has given him a lot of fine impressions about a dynamic Vietnam and the creative, clever and diligent Vietnamese people.

During their visit to Ho Chi Minh City, Clinton and his daughter Chelsea met with representatives of young entrepreneurs, intellectuals and artists.

The U.S. president affirmed the important role to be played by the Vietnamese and U.S. youth in healing the wounds of the past and building up the future.
