High-Tech Projects Launched in South China

Eight high-tech projects were launched Saturday in the state high and new technology development zone in the capital city of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, south China.

Involving an investment of 200 million yuan, the projects cover various sectors, including bio-engineering, environmental protection and infrastructure.

The zone, set up in 1992, has more than 700 enterprises, and by 2005, they will have developed 150 high-tech products with a total income of more than 24 billion yuan.
