Guizhou Province Tops China in Fixed Asset Investment Growth
In the first three quarters of this year, fixed-asset investment in southwest China's Guizhou Province jumped 48.2 percent over the same period last year, 35.3 percentage points higher than the national average growth.
Latest statistics indicate that by the end of September, Guizhou's investment in this sector exceeded 16.5 billion yuan (about US$2 billion). Of the total, 7.9 billion yuan went to infrastructure, 4.9 to renovation projects and 3 billion to real estate.
An official from the province said that infrastructure projects mainly focus on the building of railways, highways and airports to improve communications for the country's strategy of developing western regions.
