International Folk Art Festival to be Held in East China

The Fifth China International Folk Art Festival will be held in Hangzhou, the capital of east China's Zhejiang Province in 2001.

This will be the first time the festival is held outside Beijing since it was launched in 1990. Since it began, 59 folk song and dance groups from 31 countries and regions have come to China to display their folk art charm.

The festival, held every three years, has the theme: Develop Folk Art, Promote Friendship and Peace.
