Guangzhou Customs Tax Collection Growing

Customs in Guangzhou, capital of south China's Guangdong Province, had collected over 10 billion yuan (US$120 million) in taxes this year as of November 8.

This figure represents a 9.3 percent rise over the same period last year, exceeding the target figure for the whole year, according to a customs official.

In the first 10 months this year, general trade imports through Guangzhou customs totaled US$3.68 billion, a 36 percent increase from the same period last year.

The official attributed the increase to the anti-smuggling drive and comprehensive administration efforts.
