Chinese President Concludes Visit to Brunei

President Jiang Zemin left Bandar Seri Begawan Saturday for home after attending the 8th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation informal leadership meeting and paying a state visit to Brunei.

Brunei Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah hosted a ceremony to bid good-bye to Jiang and the Chinese delegation at the Royal Palace.

Bolkiah described Jiang's visit, the first ever paid by a Chinese head of state, as "a milestone" in Brunei-China relations.

Brunei is the last leg of Jiang's three-nation visit in southeast Asia.
