First China International Singing Contest Closed

The first China Guangdong Singing Contest closed Friday in the capital of south China's Guangdong Province.

Wu Bixia and Yang Jing from China won first and second prizes in the female section, respectively, while Kurzak Aleksandra from Poland and China's Liu Hongling tied for the third prize. In the men's section Yan Feng was awarded third prize, but no first and second prizes were awarded to male singers.

More than 150 singers from 22 countries and regions registered to participate in the contest, and 56 of them were selected to come to China to compete in the contest.

The judging panel comprised of seven renowned musicians from China, Romania, Britain, Germany, Australia and the Ukraine.
