Entrepreneurs Discuss Challenges Facing Globalization

More than 160 Chinese and foreign experts attended a seminar Wednesday to discuss how to face up to the challenges arising from globalization.

The seminar was jointly sponsored by the State Economic & Trade Commission and the State Administration of Petroleum & Chemical Industries of China, and Dow Corning Corp. of the United States.

Chinese entrepreneurs should consider tuning in the operations of their companies to global competition and strive to build up a harmonious customer-producer relationship, said Cheng Xiusheng, director of the Enterprise Institute affiliated with the State Council Development Research Center, a major government think tank.

Gary E. Anderson, president and CEO of Dow Corning Corp., said modern managerial technology and expertise holds the key to the success of any company.
