Macao Grand Prix Auto Races Begin

The four-day Macao Grand Prix auto races were launched November 16 in the 6.2-km-long Guia street circuit fenced tightly with iron bars.

The Grand Prix was started in 1954. This year, it has attracted more than 100 motorcycle and car drivers from over 20 countries and territories who will participate in 10 events.

Among the contests, one of the most exhilarating events is the Macao Formula 3 Grand Prix. Up to now, 30 racing car drivers, including some leading racers in the world, are here to compete.

A total of 39 motorcycle drivers and 44 car drivers will vie each other in the Macao Motorcycle Grand Prix and the Guia car race respectively.

The Grand Prix also includes seven other events supported by various sponsors.

Practicing and qualifying races are scheduled to be held on Thursday and Friday, and the most breathtaking competitions will fall on November 18 and 19.

Macao to Host Grand Prix Auto Race in Mid-November

Macao will host the Grand Prix auto races in the middle of November this year, sources with the races' organizing committee said at a press conference October 31.

The Macao Grand Prix was started in 1954 as an amateur event for local motoring enthusiasts. Now it has become an annual racing gala which attracts the world's leading riders and drivers.
