An expressway linking the city of Xi'an and Lantian in northwest China's
Shaanxi
Province was opened to traffic Thursday.
The 30.85 km expressway with a designed speed of 120 km per hour was constructed with local investment of 435 million yuan (over US$52 million).
It is part of the

312 national highway, which is a major traffic artery linking China's west and east.
