The planes, a C-130 and a CN-235, will land at the Iruma air base of the Japanese Self-Defense Force near Tokyo, carrying 50 band members to join the Japanese troops' music festival slated to open in Tokyo on November 25-26.

Some 1,000 military band members from South Korea, Japan and the United States will take part in the festival, which is held every year since 1963.
