Homemade Handsets Keeping Sound Quality

The State Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision released November 13 the result of a spot-check on the quality of mobile phones in the third quarter of the year, which shows that the eligibility of 17 major mobile phones in China market has hit 100 percent.

The result indicates there is no apparent difference in eight items such as functions of signals transmitting and receiving between homemade mobile phones and the imported ones.

Even though domestic mobile phones are not inferior to the foreign brands in quality, they still suffer from fragility in competitiveness.

There are several reasons for this. First, China hasn't so far completely mastered the core technologies in the manufacturing of mobile phones. Secondly, most of them can only be classified as of medium and low-rated ones and moreover, there is no superiority in pricing. Thirdly, so far as the types and styles are concerned the homemade ones find very few variations and take longer period in upgrading as compared with the foreign brands. What is more is that they fail to embrace the varied functions, especially such new and state-of-art ones as Chinese-supported short message, games, recording and fax.
