China to Launch First Home-Made Automobile Challenge

News reports from Nanning say that China's first home-made automobile "Crossing Mt. Greater Shiwan Challenge" will be held on Mt. Greater Shiwan, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Dec. 30, 2000 - Jan. 1, 2001, to back Beijing's 2008 Olympic Bid and tests on the manufacturing quality and performance of China's own automobiles.

It is reported Guangxi Derun Automobile & Motorcycle Sports Club is to be the organizer of "Shiwan Challenge" under the joint sponsorship of All-China Automobile Sports Union and the Physical Culture Department of Guangzi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
