Beijing Int'l Quyi Festival EndsBeijing International Quyi( ballad-singing, storytelling and other forms of folk arts) Festival ended Monday evening in Beijing's Chang'an Grand Theater.During the four-day festival, Ding Guangen, head of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, and leaders of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles (CFLAC), including Zhou Weizhi and Gao Zhanxiang, viewed performances. More than 200 artists and fans from nearly 20 countries and regions, including Canada, France, Japan, Singapore and the United States, participated in seven performances at four theaters. Well-known Chinese artists showed audiences their most outstanding pieces of traditional Chinese culture. The Chinese Quyi Artists Association, with its original form founded in 1949, has more than 3,000 members and gives the top awards in the field, the Peony Awards. |
