Foreign Drinks Continue to Sell Well in China
A survey report on China's beverage consumption was recently accomplished by China Beverage Industry Association.
According to the survey, the two Colas remain the first choice of people. They are favored by consumers in terms of taste, advertisement, packaging, and sales promotion. The purchasing rate of Coca-Cola ranks first in Beijing, 87.62 percent; Shanghai, 84.76 percent; and Guangzhou, 74.29 percent. The Pepsi-Cola ranks second in Shanghai, 84.01 percent and fourth in Beijing, 83.05 percent, lower than the home brands Xurisheng, 83.88 percent and Wahaha, 83.67 percent, and the fourth too in Guangzhou, 60.57 percent, lower than the local brand Jianlibao, 68.48 percent, and Robust, 66.38 percent. The situation featuring a large market share for the two Colas remains unchanged. This achievement should be attributed to their effective advertisements, accurate market positioning, highly efficient marketing personnel, and persistent support to commonweals.
The survey shows that the integrated strength of China's top 10 beverage manufacturers has been enhanced and their popularity and fame also top the list of the numerous brand-name drinks. However, the reputation of the 10 brands differs from place to place. Generally speaking, Lolo of Chengde, Aquarius of Shanghai, Jianlibao of Guangdong, Wahaha of Hangzhou, Robust of Guangdong also enjoy a high prestige.
The survey also shows that consumers are confident of the 10 brands recommended by the Consumers Association, which shows that the Association is authoritative and trustworthy among consumers.
