Chinese Professors Granted Polish HonorPolish Ambassador to China Ksawery Burski held a ceremony Tuesday granting the Knight's Cross of the Order of Merit to four Chinese professors, acknowledging their achievements in promoting cultural exchanges between the two countries.The honor was presented on behalf of the Polish government. The four professors are: Yi Lijun and Cheng Jizhong from Beijing Foreign Studies University, and Lin Hongliang and Zhang Zhenhui from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. They have translated a number of Polish literary works into Chinese and some of them have been devoted to teaching Polish over the past decade. In his keynote speech, the ambassador described them as "great friends of Poland." Given by Polish President Aleksander Kwasniewski, the honor is for those who have greatly contributed to exchanges between Poland and other countries.
