China Seeks Victim Laborers of World War II through Internet

A group of Chinese are now, through the Internet, seeking victim laborers seized by invading Japanese troops during World War II period in order to support them and to ask for compensation.

According to Zhang Yibo, one of the sponsors for the action, so far they have collected the information of several thousands of such victims through a special website.

Historical records show that during the World War II, the Japanese troops forced more than 50,000 Chinese laborers to work for 35 Japanese companies, including Mitsubishi, Mitsui and Sumitomo.

According to Zhang, the survivors and family members of these victims have always asked for compensation.

In May, representatives of these victims formally brought an accusation against Mitsubishi and Mitsui in the United States and asked for compensation.
