More Programs for Children Shown on CCTV

As many as 508 television programs, made especially for children, have begun to be shown on Channel Seven of the China Central Television (CCTV), the country's national TV station.

The special programming is expected to last 40 days and the programs are all going to be judged for the Fifth "Golden Children Prize," a governmental prize for children's TV programs sponsored by the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television.

The programs, 300 hours in length, include 76 columns featuring a variety of different television programs like, MTV, cartoon, dramas and science popularization programs.

Some renowned program directors and experts on children's art are invited to assess the programs. In the meantime, young audience's proposals are put into consideration in judging the programs.
