President Jiang Concludes Visit to LaosPresident Jiang Zemin concluded his state visit to Laos and left Vientiane on the morning of November 12 for Phnom Penh to continue his three-nation tour in Southeast Asia.Lao President Khamtay Siphandone and his wife met Jiang and his wife at the Presidential Palace to bid good-bye before Jiang's departure. Jiang's entourage, including Vice Premier Qian Qichen, left aboard the same special plane. Laos is the first-leg of President Jiang's three-nation trip. He is to pay state visit to Cambodia and Brunei, and attend the 8th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) informal summit. |
