President Jiang Concludes Visit to Laos
President
Jiang Zemin
concluded his state visit to
Laos
and left Vientiane on the morning of November 12 for Phnom Penh to continue his three-nation tour in Southeast Asia.
Lao President Khamtay Siphandone and his wife met Jiang and his wife at the Presidential Palace to bid good-bye before Jiang's departure.
Jiang's entourage, including Vice Premier
Qian Qichen
, left aboard the same special plane.
Laos is the first-leg of President Jiang's three-nation trip. He is to pay state visit to
Cambodia
and
Brunei
, and attend the 8th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) informal summit.
