China to Straighten up Overseas Tourism
The National Tourism Administration will join hands coming January with the Ministry of State Security, State Administration for Industry and Commerce and State Administration of Foreign Exchange to straighten up the country's overseas tourism. No companies or individuals will be allowed likewise to have their own way or to run businesses beyond their own scope without a license from the state.
The overall checkup requires travel agencies and advertisers to produce relevant licenses when doing overseas travel advertising while those disqualified will not be permitted to go in for advertising. Tourist groups must be led by professional guides and are demanded to hold checked traveler' s list when passing Customs gates. In addition, the Foreign Exchange Administration will check balance sheet of travel agencies at irregular times.
