Beijing to Erect 330-Meter-High Skyscraper
Beijing will launch the construction of the third phase of the World Trade Center project and the fourth subway line in foreseeable future, according to sources close to the Fourth Beijing-Hong Kong Economic Cooperation Seminar.
The initiated 330-meter-high skyscraper will be the highest building in Beijing upon its completion, doubling the height of the existing Beijing World Trade Center. Robert Kuok, a well-known figure in Hong Kong, is expected to fund the construction of the mansion.
In the meantime, the construction of the fourth subway line, stretching from the north to the south of Xidan, has also been contracted with an investment of US$1.1 billion involved and the project is predicted to be completed in five years.
According to the overall planning scheduled by Beijing Municipal government, efforts will be exerted to the construction of municipal works at the intersection of the East Third Ring Road and Jianguomen Wai Street.
