Business Portion of China's Aviation Show Ends

A three-day business portion of the Third China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition ended November 9 in Zhuhai, a port city in south China's Guangdong Province. The exhibition will be open to the public on November 12.

The show is designed for dealings with aircraft companies and business insiders indicating that as a result of the exhibition things look good for China's aviation market.

The world's leading two aircraft companies, Boeing and Airbus, Friday simultaneously released their optimistic forecast of China's aviation market and extended their determination for a long-term stand on the China market.

Randy Baseler, vice-president of Boeing Civil Airplane Co., said that the exhibition has provided an excellent opportunity for Boeing to be exposed to China's aircraft companies.

Airbus signed a memorandum of understanding with the Shenyang Aircraft Industries, a subsidiary of China Aviation Industries, at the exhibition, initiating the second stage of production of airfoils for Airbus planes, which are manufactured in Shenyang, capital of northeast China's Liaoning Province.

Shaanxi Aircraft Industry Co. signed technology cooperation contracts for its Yun-8s planes with its counterparts from Russia and France.

The company has concluded satisfying leasing and sales contracts to domestic airlines here as well.

Korea Aerospace Industries received orders from Chinese airline companies the first day of its first show at the biennial exhibition.

A company in southernmost China's Hainan Province bought five of the Korea SB-427 civil airplanes. It made a number of agreements on manufacturing technology, maintenance and after- sales services with Chinese players at the fair.

The show will continue to November 12.
