Air Show Attracts Public

On the first day open to the public, the Third China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition attracted tens of thousands of local visitors Thursday.

About 400 aviation and aerospace manufacturers in 27 foreign countries and regions are participating in the exhibition, which is located 40 kilometers away from Zhuhai City.

Many visitors closely examined the country's first test spacecraft "Shenzhou" and took photos of the milestone of the Chinese space industry.

China's leading aviation and aerospace manufacturers are also taking part in the exhibition, which opened Monday in the Special Economic Zone in south Guangdong Province.

Stunt fleets from Britain, China and Russia provided breathtaking air performances Thursday.

Organizers estimated that the total number of visitors to the exhibition is likely to exceed 700,000.
