Great Performance in First Asian Kayak Slalom Tournament

Initial Asian Kayak Slalom Tournament closed on the evening of Nov. 7 in Pingdingshan City, Henan Province. China squad grabbed nine of the ten gold medals, six silver and four bronze. 143 players from ten countries and regions joined in this game.

Kayaking Slalom staged on to the Olympics since 1996, but no Chinese sportsman set foot in this competition in the past two Olympics. The slalom events require the paddlers to negotiate 20 to 25 gates in turbulent water over a 300-metre course. Competitors aim to complete the course in the shortest time, factoring in penalties.

As reported, the said event is to put on the stage of next national sports meet.
