Siemens' Investment in China Tops 1 Bn. German Marks
The general manager of the Power Generating Group of Siemens Ltd. (China) disclosed Wednesday in Beijing that Siemens has so far invested over 1 billion German marks in China and the volume of investment will continue to grow.
Sources say that Siemens Group has developed its business in China rapidly in the fields of information and telecommunication, energy construction, industrial automation, etc. Its GSM system covers almost all of China's provinces. Siemens has ranked third in China since last September in terms of the sales volume of handsets. As China's largest supplier of imported equipment for China's power generating stations, Siemens provides Chinese clients in general with high-quality technology and engineering services through its various automation and driving products.
As a large transnational company, Siemens has established 45 joint ventures, 10 wholly foreign-owned companies and 2 BOT projects across China, covering almost all of the company's business areas.
