China Agricultural High-tech Forum Ends

Domestic and overseas participants of the China Agricultural High-tech Forum, which ended Wednesday, discussed and provided suggestions to China's ongoing westward development drive.

During the three-day forum, international scholars, bankers and entrepreneurs focused on agricultural high technologies and westward economic development.

Vice minister of Science and Technology Xu Guanhua, vice minister of Agriculture Zhang Baowen, vice minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Zhang Xiang, deputy director of the State Forestry Bureau Li Yucai and Shaanxi governor Cheng Andong gave theme speeches at the forum.

Other lecturers included Jan Mattsson of the United Nations Development Program and well-known experts such as Richard Schulberg, Olof Claesson, John Wall and Alain Bonjean.

They discussed the agricultural sector at modern times, high technologies in agriculture, industrialization of agriculture, sustainable development in agriculture, water resources employment and ecological construction.
