Value of Global IT Products in Motherland Expected to Surpass That of Taiwan

As the environment for investment in Taiwan is deteriorating, Taiwan's hardware manufactures have increased their proportion of production in China's mainland. According to the rough estimation of the Taiwan MIC ( Market Intelligence Center ), the global value of information industry products made by China's mainland will for the first time exceed that of Taiwan with its annul growth rate hitting the world record while Taiwan will quit to take the fourth place.

As estimated by the MIC, the global value of information industry expected to realize in across the Taiwan Straits may reach 25.535 billion US dollars, an annual increase of 38.4 percent, setting a record high in the world.

According to reports, the value of hardware products made in factories established by Taiwan manufacturers in across the Taiwan Straits will top 18.577 billion US dollars. Of the hardware products shifted from Taiwan to China's mainland what counts the most is the mouse, which takes up 95 percent, next being the wares for power-supply, the production of which also makes up 90 percent, and its keyboard accounting for 86 percent, ranking the third. The other such products as scanner, computer shell, and CD/DVD drive as well as monitor also take up 60 percent. What's worthy of being noted is the desktop computers assembled in China's mainland, which occupy 45 percent, matching the rate of that for mainboard.
