Dow Corning to Help China Upgrade Power Facilities

Richard H. Thomas, manager of global electricity company Dow Corning, said Tuesday November 7 that the company would help China upgrade its power facilities by utilizing more advanced electrical insulation materials.

Thomas made the remark when speaking at China's eighth International Exhibition of Electric Power Equipment and Technology.

The new materials will help China extend maintenance intervals, reduce cost and enhance the reliability of electric utility services.

With a factory set up in Shanghai in 1991, the company now takes up about 25 percent of China's market of electrical related products.

Sales manager Chu Ho, said the company hopes to increase investment in China and to strengthen cooperation.

Since the company's inception in 1943, it has continued to research and supply high-performance products in the electrical industry.
