In the past three months, the branch has invested some 350 million yuan (about 42.27 million $US) in laying telephone lines in 816 villages, mostly located in the northern impoverished mountainous areas. The move has realized the goal of "telephone service available in every village" two months ahead of schedule, the official said.
According to the branch, over the past ten years, the telecommunications departments of the province have invested 600 million yuan (about 72.46 million $US) in constructing the project.
