New Plane Receives Big Order Form
A new model MA60 plane that is made in China, received a big order form in Zhuhai, south China's Guangdong province.
The Xi'an Aircraft Industry (Group) Co. Ltd., manufacturer of the MA60, will supply 60 planes over five years to the Shenzhen Financial Leasing Co. Ltd (SFLC), according to a contact signed here Tuesday.
The manufacturer had already received an order of eight planes and a letter of intent to purchase 19 MA60 planes prior to going to Zhuhai, the location of the ongoing Third China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition, which opened Monday.
The MA60 will become the turbofan regional civil aircraft of the next generation. It can accommodate 60 passengers with the maximum distance of 1,600 kilometers and maximum takeoff weight capability of 21,800 kilograms.
The plane will be easy to operate, highly reliable and competitively priced, according to experts concerned with the manufacture program.
Sources said that the planes purchased by SFLC will mainly be rented to airline companies for regional flights.
Experts predict that the number of regional flights in China will rocket up over the next decade accounting for about 26 percent of total air transportation, over twice as much as the current level.
Experts believe that China will still need another 445 regional planes by the year 2019.
