China International Education Forum to Debut

The 2000 China International Education Forum, focusing on the challenges to education caused by IT development, will be held in Bejing on November 10.

The forum, to be hosted by the China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE), is the first of its kind in China. At the forum, renowned experts will speak on the role of IT in education.

Vice Minister of Education Wei Yu will make a speech entitled "welcome challenges with rapid development", and other participants will give speeches from various perspectives.

You Shaozhong, deputy secretary general of CEAIE, said at Tuesday's news brief that CEAIE will host an annual international education forum from this year on, and will invite domestic and overseas experts to discuss education reforms which are going on in China and other countries.

You Shaozhong also noted that this forum aims to call on society to pay more attention to education, as well as push forward the information process in China's education.
