China's First Tourist Group at Its Own Expense Sets Off for Japan

A group of 35 Shanghai citizens, set off on November 6 for a nine-day trip to Japan, organized by the Shanghai International Travel Agency.

It is the first trip ever by a Japan-bound tourist delegation from China whose members have been responsible for their own travel expenses.

Currently, only citizens from Shanghai, Beijing and Guangdong are able to tour Japan and only 21 travel agencies in China are authorized to organize such travels.

Either the travel agency or the individual tourist can be punished if any serious incident occurs during the tour.
