CCTV Joins Hands with TCL on Long-distance Education

China Central Radio and TV University and the TCL Group Corp Ltd Monday in Beijing agreed to co-operate on a long-distance education programme, which is expected to benefit about 2 million students directly and tens of millions who access information using the Internet.

The project, which was approved by the Ministry of Education, aims to build the world's largest and most modern long-distance education system.

The TCL group will invest 100 million yuan (US$12 million) in the project and help manage the scheme's marketing. The project will make use of computers, satellite TVs and other forms of telecommunication to teach its students. (source: chinadaily.com.cn)
