State-Owned Enterprises in Tianjin Busy Getting On-Line
Some 400 state-owned enterprises attached to the Tianjin Municipal Economic Commission had opened their own homepages by the end of September.
Thirty companies affiliated with the commission are now establishing their own web sites, as part of Tianjin's effort to advance the extensive use of information. Enterprises with an annual turnover of over five million yuan (602,000 U.S. dollars) that are affiliated with the commission will all get on line within this year.
In late September the commission decided that 10,000 industry companies in the city should get on-line, 1,000 enterprises should establish their own web sites, and 10 industrial web sites should be opened by the end of this year.
