China Becomes World Biggest Fruit & Vegetable Producer

China has become the world biggest producer of fruit and vegetables after ten years' rapid development, said agricultural official, adding that an output value of the two totaling RMB$350bn yuan and an export amount of vegetables taking one third of the world's total have been produced.

China's acreage grown to vegetables and fruits have already been up to the world's 32.8% and 21.3% of acreage of the two respectively last year and an output of 64.4% and 14% of world vegetable and fruit production as well. By its apple and pear it leads all the others throughout the world and for its orange it is next only to the US and Brazil.
