Guangdong Province Cracks Biggest Case of Smuggling Refined Oil
The Huangpu Customs Office in South China's
Guangdong
Province has confiscated 1,800 tons of smuggled diesel oil worth 6.84 million yuan from the "Liaohai Oil No. 18 Tanker" at the Yuexin Oil Depot Wharf.
This is the biggest case of smuggling refined oil in Guangdong so far this year.Police have arrested more than 20 smugglers including twelve crew members and eight workers in the wharf.
The smugglers confessed that "Liaohai Oil No.18 Tanker" was launched in Xinhui and anchored after to the
Taiwan
Straights. Before returning, the captain got in touch with the oil dealers and received the oil.
