International Acrobatic Festival Closes

The seven-day Fourth Wuhan International Acrobatics Festival closed Friday night in Wuhan, capital of central China's Hubei Province.

Participants included more than 10 delegations from 12 countries and regions including China, Russia, Sweden, the United States, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, and Mongolia.

Of the 29 performances, Chinese acrobatic troupes won three gold medals; the other two gold medals went to troupes from Russia and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).

Various medals for excellent programs also were awarded to a number of domestic and overseas troupes.

Meng Xiaosi, vice-minister of Culture, said the festival has made an important contribution to the exchange and development of acrobatics in the world.
