When completed, the railway network would expand to more than 250 kilometers, an increase of over 70 percent over the current length. And by then, about 70 percent of the population and 80 percent of employment would be within walking distance from railway stations, Ng said. "It is estimated that the rail share in public transport will increase from the present 30 percent to about 45 percent, Ng said. |
