Peruvian Paintings Shown in BeijingThe China International Exhibition Agency (CIEA) opened Thursday an exhibition of paintings by well-known Peruvian painter Edda Chiappe.The exhibition, sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, is part of the Sino-Peruvian cultural exchange program. The 28 exhibits demonstrate Chiappe's delicate painting skill, as well as the picturesque landscapes of Peru and the colorful way of life of the Peruvian people. Qi Mai, publicity chief for the CIEA, believes that the Chinese visitors to the exhibition will be interested in the exotic paintings. First learning her skill in 1974, Chiappe has taken her paintings to many Western countries for exhibitions. The exhibition being held at Beijing's Yanhuang Art Gallery will last until November 12. |
