Li Peng Meets Foreign Delegates to International Symposium on Social and Human Sciences

Li Peng, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, met Friday with foreign delegates to the international symposium on the Prospects of Social Sciences and the Humanities in the 21st Century.

The two-day symposium, which opened in Beijing Thursday, focuses on discussion of the development and prospects of social and human sciences in modern times and trying to provide solutions to practical problems confronted by the society.
