Xuzhou Hosts "3 Fairs & 1 Festival"

Thursday saw "3 Fairs & 1 Festival" opened at the China Huaihai Food City in Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province, namely the National Food Exposition, the Second National Food Processing & Packing Machinery and Commercial Equipment Fair (Xuzhou), and Xuzhou Third Economic & Trade Fair as well as Pengcheng Food Culture Festival.

Over 20,000 businessmen and other people swarmed to the grand gathering, the largest in scale and richest in content ever held in this ancient city since the policy of reform and opening up implemented by the Chinese government in 1978. Some 400 odd booths of international standard covering a space of 13,000 sqm have been decked out for the activity.

Alongside of the economic and trade exchanges, the organizing committee has also arranged such activities as high-profile forum on the development of China's enterprises in food industry, invitation show by chefs and assembling exhibition of local refreshments and snacks.

Located in the eastern part of China, Xuzhou city has always been taken as a place of military strategic and economic importance. In the past few years, the city administration has made great efforts in developing its food industry, and for this purpose, China Huaihai Food City has thus been built into a food trade center. With a planned investment of 2.5 billion yuan to be pooled in, the Food City is going to cover an area of 3.6 sq.km.
