China's First Postage-Free Postcards on Show

China's first set of postage-free postcards is on show at the ongoing China Hangzhou Stamp Exhibition in Hangzhou City, capital of east China's Zhejiang Province.

The postcards was showed for the first time, 71 years after they were released.

One of 28,000 sets of postage-free postcards issued at the First West Lake Fair in 1929, the postcards are believed to be the only set still in existence.

The set consists of 36 postcards, mostly showing pictures depicting events at the fair.

Exhibition organizers said that some of the pictures will be printed on a new set of postcards to be issued during the exhibition.

The valuable set of postage-free postcards was sold for about 200,000 yuan in 1995, according to the organizers.
