Chinese State Council Appoints Macao's Police Commander

The State Council, China's highest governing body, announced Thursday that it has appointed Jose Proenca Branco as chief commander of the police force in the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR).

The announcement came to press in a news release.

The appointment was made based on the nomination by Edmund Ho Hau Wah, chief executive of the Macao SAR, said the news release.
