Beijing Middle School Students Propose Carrying on Olympic Spirit

Students in the No. 204 Middle School in Beijing have issued a call to the students throughout Beijin and the country to "carry forward the Olympic spirit and improve our health quality."

They say in a letter of proposal: "by so doing, we can make our due contributions to bidding for the 2008 Olympic Games."

The letter reads: "We also must save water, electricity and paper, place garbage by classifying it, actively spread the knowledge of environmental protection, safeguard the nation's honor, and take good care of public facilities and cultural relics."

The proposal has already been submitted to the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games Bid Committee and Education Commission.
